Biography

Allen was born and raised in the St. Louis area where graduated from CBC high school and then obtained his bachelor's and master’s degrees from Webster University. In 2003, Allen joined the St. Louis County Police Department and served as a member of the Tactical Operations Unit as well as a detective in the Bureau of Drug Enforcement. Before leaving law enforcement, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the North County Precinct.

In 2013 Allen began a career in Financial Services wanting to help protect the financial future of his fellow police officers and their families. Allen’s dedication to serve the community resulted in him becoming the 2015 Life Case Rate leader out of the entire St. Louis General Office. In 2016 Allen was promoted to Partner of the firm.

 

Brandon Kohnen

Biography

Born and raised in Saint Louis, Brandon graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2010, after playing collegiate football at Millikin University in Decatur, IL.    

Professionally, Brandon joined the New York Life in June of 2011 shortly after graduation.  Brandon spent nearly 6 years as Agent achieving 4 consecutive Executive Council Qualifications.  Brandon joined the Management Team in the Saint Louis General Office in April of 2017, and was promoted to Partner shortly after. 

Brandon is actively involved is charitable and professional organizations.  Brandon is actively involved in Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, a member of the Saint Charles Goodfellas, a charity benefitting children in Saint Charles, and serves on the board of Young Variety Saint Louis, a children’s charity.  He also serves on the board of the Local NAIFA Saint Louis chapter.

Brandon is married to his lovely wife, Amanda.  They met in high school, and have been married since 2014.  In August of 2017, they welcomed their daughter, Charlotte Sue, into their family. Brandon comes from a very large family, and is a huge fan of Cardinal Baseball.  In his free time, he enjoys playing softball and golf, boating, camping, and traveling.  

 

Brant Pflum

Biography

Originally from Palmyra, a small town in the North East Missouri, Brant Pflum is married to his wife Kelly and has a daughter Josey with two labs Jett and Biscuit.


He graduated from the University of Missouri Columbia with a focus in Business Management. While at Mizzou he played Rugby and was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. With a passion to lead and serve others in 1998 Brant opened a Farmers Insurance and Financial Services Agency. After 7 successful years he sold the agency and was promoted to Management. Brant became a Farmers Insurance District Manager in St Charles, Missouri inMay of 2005 In that role he developed agencies and received Farmers Insurance highest honor "Presidents Council" multiple times. After 20 years of running his own Insurance and Financial services business, in June 2019 Brant became an Agent for New York Life Insurance Company and a Register Representative for NYLIFE Securities LLC and was promoted Partner in July of 2020.


While not at work he enjoys anything outdoors. Boating, hunting, fishing are a big part of his life and something the family enjoys regularly. He remains active in the community and is involved with Youth in Need, March of Dimes and Suites for Soldiers. Brant thinks he's a master chef and will accept most challenges that come his way.

Biography

Rick has been a Life Insurance and Financial Services professional for more than 40 years. He has been referred to as the Marco Polo of the Life insurance industry, based on
the diversity of his insurance background, education, experiences and wisdom.


Rick attended Temple University, majoring in Insurance & Risk Management and continued his graduate work at the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania, majoring in
Insurance and Risk.


Among other responsibilities, Rick has been a Chief  Marketing Officer, Vice President of Sales, Financial Advisor, Director of Advanced Sales, as well as an Agency Owner. He has authored the books Create Intentional Success and Delayed Gratification. Rick is recognized as an expert in
helping bright, hard-working people launch their career as a financial professional and getting to the next level.


Rick's wonderful wife, Caryln, is a retired insurance sales executive. They have been blessed with their first grandchild and 3 amazing kids. Away from work, you will find Rick at a Cardinals game or grilling a steak-sometimes both.

Biography

Mike started his New York Life career in April 2002 as an agent in the Saint Louis General Office.  Between 2002 and 2007, Mike achieved council 4 times and was an MDRT member in 2006^.  In September of 2007, Mike accepted the position of Development Manager in the Saint Louis G.O.  Mike is a sought after resource and speaker, and considers it his job to help those around him grow in all areas of life. 

In his free time, Mike enjoys sharing his life with his wife Amy, and their 3 children.  The kids keep Mike and Amy busy running from event to event, but they always enjoy spending time together as a family.

Biography

Charlie Bright started his professional career as a university professor with a passion for changing lives.  In 2008, he joined New York Life as an agent, and switched from teaching English to educating clients about insurance and financial planning issues.  In 3 years, he achieved multiple honors including New Associate of the Year and one of the company's top honors of President's Council, quickly ascending to the top 10% of the agents in the United States.  In 2012, Charlie was promoted, becoming a Partner in the St. Louis office.

Charlie credits his success to the New York Life training program and the incredible support of his wife, Jill.  He attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where he worked in the Math and English departments and taught for the Pierre Laclede Honors College.  He holds two degrees, carries FINRA Series 7, 24, 6, and 63 licenses, is a 2-term local President of Business Networking International, and holds the LUTCF designation.

 Outside of the office, Charlie has a lifelong passion for travel and theatre.  Since 2008, he and Jill have attended performances across the world, with favorite venues in Broadway and London.  Charlie and Jill moved to Kirkwood in 2011, and are active supporters of Cancer Support Community, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
